ENGINEERING EDUCATION SYSTEM IN INDIA

Employers, legislatures, and practicing engineers have all expressed dissatisfaction with the state of engineering education over the last two decades. The general opinion is that the existing engineering curriculum is unsuitable for the new engineering workplace. Graduate engineers entering the job market experience a disparity between the engineering education they received and the engineering work they are asked to perform. On a political and economic level, policymakers are concerned that the graduates of today's engineering education lack the skills necessary to accelerate the economic transition needed for their countries to stay competitive.

In reality, more engineers than people of any other occupation can be seen on the streets these days. Obtaining an engineering degree in India is not difficult these days. When it comes to engineering education in India, there were very few institutes in the past, and many students had to work day and night to earn a place in a prestigious institute. In those days, the number of employers was almost certainly greater than the number of engineers graduating each year, which meant there was a greater likelihood of finding work.

With the recent trends in India, engineering education has deteriorated to the point that only a few top and renowned institutes that are decades old provide students with a quality education. People are now establishing their own institutes and attracting people into additional streams or branches in order to earn revenue. With these skills, one is unable to obtain a desirable position in any organization or industry, thus ruining his or her life and forcing them to work for their parents and manage their family business. Engineering is an excellent educational qualification, and it is recommended that institutions offer it comprehensively so that prospective engineers can assist the nation in reaching new heights and developing at a rapid rate.
