Mentorship @ Medi-Caps Campus
It is well known saying that Mentoring is a two-way
street. The mentor gets wiser mentoring the mentees and the mentees gains
knowledge through his / her mentor. It is a great experience for both when a synchronized
efforts come from both the ends. Actually, a mentor is someone who can bring
out all the positives, talents and potential that is hidden within their mentee
provided that mentee should give all the necessary inputs as and when needed. The
bond between the two can definitely help mentors to address the sorrow, shortcomings
and negatives of mentees because of life’s experiences with them.
As far as mentorship at Medi-Caps University is concerned,
students of Medi-caps University are FORTUNATE students. They are assigned a Mentor
as they step in the premises in the first year. They become a Mentee of a well
qualified, experienced Mentor. The one
person who could see ahead what others cannot see and help them navigate a
course to their destination. Mentors take care of their Mentees from first year
to the final year. They help them not only from Academic point of view to
trainings and certifications but also, they understand their Mentee’s
socio-economic background. They know their family member’s and their different
interest areas. According to the keenness of their mentee’s choice, mentors
suggest them what certification they should opt for, certification of how much
duration, how that certification can influence them in their near future. Many
a times, student may not be in good mood, may be due to academic stress, family
trouble or any other reason. But, talking to mentor can make them release their
negative clouds to some extent. Mentor Meeting is one of the important activity
other than following the regular time tables for students. It is carried out
every fortnight. These meetings help them to make a good attachment between
them.
Me being a Mentor, love mentoring for many reasons. One
of the reasons is gratification. Satisfaction of seeing my mentees striving
hard towards their vision. Gratification of making them realize that they can meet
their goals and interests. To make their dreams turn into reality.
Being Mentor
Coordinator of my department, I just want to emphasize that mentoring isn’t an
extracurricular activity, it’s a vital activity for cultivating an enriching
brain, to mold the mentees in positive direction and thereby making them
sophisticated citizens of our society.
