ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN INDIA

Image
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies are going to be the most powerful agents of transformation in human history. AI will reshape the global economy, technological landscape and every aspect of our daily lives. India as the fourth-largest economy in the world and a young nation, it is imperative to be prepared to answer the challenges of AI and to leverage it to solve social problems, in building towards the economic prosperity.   Before addressing the challenges and opportunities for India, it is critical to understand what has changed in the field of AI in recent times. The answer lies in what experts of the industry refer to as Moore’s law and its broader impact on the computing space. This maxim states that the number of transistors in computer chips doubles every two years, meaning that computer power increases and the relative cost of computer hardware decreases at an exponential pace; the fruit of this relation—faster and cheaper computing power coupled with ...

Application of Mathematics

Image
According to some people, math's is just the use of complicated formulas and calculations which won’t be ever applied in real life. But math's is the universal language which is applied in almost every aspect of life. Yes! You read it right; basic mathematical concepts are followed all the time. Let us discuss some interesting Application of Mathematics. Benford's law, also known as the Newcomb–Benford law, the law of anomalous numbers, or the first-digit law, is an observation that in many real-life sets of numerical data, the leading digit is likely to be small. In sets that obey the law, the number 1 appears as the leading significant digit about 30 % of the time, while 9 appears as the leading significant digit less than 5 % of the time. If the digits were distributed uniformly, they would each occur about 11.1 % of the time. Isn’t its Sound interesting [ Benford's law also makes predictions about the distribution of second digits, third digits, digit combinatio...

“The Next War is for Information (Cyber War):” Need Security and Privacy about Information

Image
As of now, the age that we are living called Information Age. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, there is an increasing in the rate of online activities in many forms. Many of us have used digital platform in form of Computer and Mobile device over internet. This increases the online activity and generates lot of information. There are some questions raised in our minds- How information is going to be stored and where it can handle? Or is it secured or not? This happens because we have used the free version of application and that are kept in their own data centers. But we also wonder if they have kept our data safe or not. All questions are required for covering new technology domains with data itself i.e., Machine Learning, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Cloud Computing etc. which are good when sufficient and integral data are provided. Today’s technologies have tremendous change in their operating features and would be able to change the world. The following are things to...

Quality Control of Herbal Medicines- The Need of Time

Image
Quality is of prime concern to human beings in all aspects of life. Due to the stringency in the regulations, the quality of the synthetically manufactured pharmaceuticals is maintained up to the mark which assures both safety and efficacy of the pharmaceutical products. Herbal preparations are made from one or more herbs. If more than one herb is used, the term mixed herbal product is used. Finished herbal products and mixed herbal products may contain excipients in addition to the active ingredients. In some countries, herbal medicines may contain, by tradition, natural organic or inorganic active ingredients that are not of plant origin Most herbal product labels cannot fully reveal the contents of a container . Study reveals less than 50% chances of actually achieve the label claim. Quality control and standardization of herbal products depends on various factors like age/ part of plant collected, temperature, sunlight, time of collection, drying process, storage etc., w...

Explaining Physics Through Examples

Image
Today a teacher cannot guarantee that the student will be able know the things only when he delivers. Lot of online resources are available to get the things known. The pedagogy of a faculty how he teaches matters a lot. Examples have always played a central role in the development and the teaching of Physics. This blog reports on importance of faculties choice and uses of examples in elementary physics teaching. Selecting an appropriate example become a challenging task with faculties pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) being a determining factor in the process of selecting and using examples. Faculty often enter their classrooms with thousands of hours of experience in their chosen field, and they typically face students who have little to no experience with that field of study. In this way, faculty may take for granted all that they know and are able to do. In a sense, they expect students to “get inside their head.” One of the joys of teaching is finding ways to take complex t...
